Agent-pool

One of the organization's agent-pools: the agents in it, the capabilities they share, and the tokens they register with. The page is titled with the pool's name, with its description beside it.

How to get there

  • From Agent-pools: double-click a pool, or select it and click Open.

Permission

You open a pool's page from the Agent-pools page, and need what that page needs. Changing its capabilities, clearing its contract and adding a token need Add and change agent-pools; revoking a token needs Delete agent-pools. Commands you may not use are not shown; see Permissions.

The Capabilities tab of Harbour robots: no capabilities yet, and Add capability on the ribbon

Tabs

The page opens on Members. Its tabs don't show in the page's address, so a link to the page always opens on Members.

Members

The agents registered into the pool, with their Name, Status, SDK version and .NET version. Until one registers, the tab says No agents have registered into this pool. An agent itself is managed in Administration, so its row doesn't open from here.

Capabilities

What the pool's agents can do, as keys and values, such as browser.chromium = true. A process's demands are matched against them, to choose an agent that can run it.

ColumnShows
KeyThe capability's name, as demands refer to it.
ValueIts value. A demand has to match it exactly.
SourceAgent for what the pool's agents report about themselves, User for what someone added here.

A capability added here with the key of one the agents report wins: the reported value is shown struck through, marked overridden. The reported capabilities themselves can't be changed or deleted here (The agent reports this capability itself: add one with the same key to override it).

The contract: the first agent to register into the pool seals what it reports as the pool's contract. Every later agent must report the same, or it is refused. When the pool's agents change on purpose, such as a new image with another browser, Clear contract lets the next agent to register seal a new one. Capabilities added here are not part of the contract, and neither are those whose key starts with instance..

Tokens

The tokens an agent registers into the pool with:

ColumnShows
DescriptionWhat the token is for, such as the server it is used on.
ValueThe token, obscured.
CreatedWhen it was added.
StatusActive, or Revoked.
IdentifierThe token's identifier.

Add token asks for a Description, then shows the new token in a dialog, Token for … created successfully!, with a button to copy it. Copy it then: Spider never shows it again. Click Close when you have.

Revoke stops a token from working, after asking (Are you sure you want to revoke this token? Instances already running keep working, but none can register with it again.). A revoked token stays on the list.

Commands

TabGroupCommandWhat it doesDisabled when
Home, ListNewAdd capability, Add tokenAdds a capability (Capabilities) or a token (Tokens).

Drawers and dialogs

Add capability

  • Key: the capability's name, as demands refer to it.
  • Value: its value, which a demand has to match exactly.

Click Add, or Cancel. Open on a capability opens the same drawer, titled Change Capability, with Change.

Delete Capability

Are you sure you want to delete the capability '…'? Click Yes to delete it, or No. When the agents report a capability with the same key, its reported value counts again.

Clear Capability Contract

Are you sure you want to clear the capability contract? The next agent to register seals a new one, and until then nothing is checked against. Click Yes to clear it, or No.

When the pool changes elsewhere

When someone else changes the pool while you have its page open, the page shows the change. When someone deletes it, the page says so, with a link back to the list. See Changed elsewhere.
